Grace To Be Cheerful Always

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world. John 16:33 (KJV & CEV)

Jesus never said that we would not have trials, difficult times and challenges. However, He assured us that because of what He has done for us, we already have victory over those situations. By faith in what Jesus has done and what He says about our lives and situations, He wants us never to allow any situation to stop us from being joyful, hopeful and cheerful. No matter the severity of afflictions that we face as God's children, the Lord will deliver us from them all. Psalms 34:19

Psalms 2:1-3 declares, “why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” In the midst of all these negative plots and conspiracy, the Bible describes God's incomprehensible reaction. Verse 4 goes on to say: “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”

Remember that you are also seated in the heavens. You are seated together with Christ in heavenly places, Ephesians 2:6. So no matter what the devil is planning against you, don't lose your joy. Rather, join God to laugh at the devil because he is a liar and you already have the victory. The rest of Psalms 2 reveals that after laughing, God then declares His word to grant total victory for His chosen. Your victory is guaranteed. God has sent His word and promises and they will not return to Him void, Isaiah 55:11. They will accomplish His purpose which is your victory. Hold on to God's word and keep rejoicing.
